Gone are the days when investors and traders had to manually gather
charge details, calculate buy and sell prices, apply fees, and
double-check for errors, only to miss the right moment to make a trade.
Welcome to Tradejini’s very own brokerage calculator where we provide
you with transparent and accurate transaction charges. We believe that
every investment and trade must be made with complete financial
information and this includes the brokerage charges.
What is a Brokerage calculator?A brokerage calculator is an online tool which you can use to calculate
the exact amount of charges levied on the transaction in advance and
then proceed accordingly. You can calculate the transaction cost for
Equities, Derivatives and Commodities for free and proceed with your
investment/trade.
Formula for Brokerage CalculationThe formula for calculating brokerage is straightforward:Brokerage = Number of Shares × Price per Share × Brokerage
PercentageFor example, let's say Mr. Jini purchased 10 shares at a price
of ₹500 per share for equity delivery.
The brokerage charges would be calculated as follows:
Brokerage = 10 shares × ₹500 × 0.1%
= ₹5000 × 0.1% = ₹5 Since the brokerage is either 0.1% of the total value or a flat
fee of ₹20, whichever is lower, the final brokerage charge will
be ₹5, as it is less than ₹20. Additionally, we also
provide a “Points to break even”
which is Total charges ÷ Quantity This feature helps users easily
determine the minimum price movement required to cover all costs,
providing better clarity.
How to use the brokerage calculator? Our calculator is quite simple to use. All the charges are accurate,
up-to-date already present in the layout. All you have to do is enter
the :
Quantity of asset
Buy Price of the asset
Sell Price of the asset
The tool will automatically calculate the Turnover, Tradejini Charges,
Statutory Charges and the Net P&L.Factors influencing brokerage calculationThe brokerage charged will differ based on several factors such as
:
Buy / Sale Price: The higher the trade value, the higher the
brokerage as it's often calculated as a percentage of the total
trade value. However, this is not applicable for
CubePlus users since our charges are capped at ₹20 a trade.
Volume of Transaction: A larger transaction volume leads to a
higher brokerage cost.
Market Segment: Brokerage charges vary by market type, such
as equities- delivery & intraday, commodities, derivatives- Futures
& Options or Forex, each with different fee structures.
Statutory Charges: Fees like STT, SEBI charges, GST, and
stamp duty are subject to changes and add to the overall cost of a
trade. However, these changes will be automatically updated in the
calculator as and when the changes take place, ensuring up-to-date
and accurate charges.
Type of Broker: Traditional brokers usually charge between
0.3% and 1% of the total turnover. At Tradejini, as a
discount broker, we offer a more cost-effective solution by charging
just 0.1% of the transaction value or ₹20 per trade, whichever is
lower, ensuring you save more on every trade without compromising on
service quality.
